                                                                                  Does God Exist?

         I hear from a lot of people that give their rational for the nonexistence of God. It makes my heart bleed that people cannot find the joy and peace in knowing there is in fact a God who is a REALITY. There are close friends of mine that tell me about the pain in their hearts regarding one issue or another and if the subject of God comes up, their response is "what God"? Some of these people are the same ones who not only do not believe in God, they do not believe the Bible is the truth also. Yet they are the first ones to blame God when things go wrong in their lives.

         If anyone reading this page has this question in their hearts, my personal response to you is, yes, I believe God truly exists. My life has changed in enormous ways, knowing that God is there, through His gift to us, our savior, Jesus Christ.

         It's so unfortunate that God is becoming more and more a distant thought or ancient belief. I believe this is because humans always need proof. "Show me", "prove it" are the responses of the critics. The reality is that the existence of proof is not the question. The fact the unbeliever does not accept the proof that is here does not negate the existence of such proof.

       I have been asked, "You are an Engineer, you deal with facts, how can you believe there is a God? For me personally, I can't imagine the possibility that there is not. I have thought about things such as how is it that this planet of ours is exactly the right distance from the sun to sustain life or how is it that we humans have the intelligence that we do. I have concluded, that it is just impossible for these things to be 'by chance'. It just doesn't make sense to me. I have faith that the Bible is the truth and the word of God.

          In considering the question of how is it that our bodies function in ways that Scientists can't fully explain, It reminds me of a quote I read on wonderful web
site  http://www.allaboutthejourney.org, Charles Darwin was quoted when he was discussing his theories, and in talking about the marvelous "human eye", he said;

"To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree."

Darwin himself questioned his own beliefs and the fact that there had to be some sort of “intelligent design” as he put it.

        I think that we as humans continuously ask questions about the existence of God simply because we are finite creatures. We have to have a start and end to everything. We get up in the morning each day, and there is an end to the day. We are born, live and eventually die. A start and a finish to everything we can comprehend. We can’t imagine something or someone who is infinite because it is impossible for us limited, finite, humans to comprehend an unlimited, infinite, creator. To believe, God always was in something our minds can't grasp; Enter.... FAITH. Faith that God is who He says He is and that He is a REALITY.

        There are those that believe that everything was created by chance. In looking at this possibility, A well known Christian Theologist  Dr. RC Sproul spoke of this and considered the possibility of word chance being the cause of creation by means of the study of Ontology. Ontology is the study of a thing's being, essence or reality. Its power if you will. He concluded that the Ontological status of 'chance' is zero, therefore chance cannot be the cause of creation or anything for that matter because it has no power. Chance is nothing.

             Biblical prophecy has been proven throughout history. The most recent event was what was foretold in the book of Deuteronomy, in Chapter 30, verses 3-5, where God tells the people of Israel, that He will scatter His people to all ends of the earth, then once again bring them back home. This prophecy started in May of 1948 when Israel was established as an independent state. Although Israel does not consist of all of the land promised by God's covenant, it is widely believed this will be completed with the return of Jesus.

             So, to all that may have this question, I truly hope and pray for all, to come to the realization that GOD IS A REALITY.

"The fool has said in is heart, "There is no God". They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none that has done good." Ps. 14:1

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Heb. 11:6
